Kerry Ingles

Experienced counseling you can trust.

Kerry attended public school in San Luis Obispo County from kindergarten through college. She obtained her B.S. degree in Kinesiology from Cal Poly, SLO (California Polytechnic State University), and earned her M.A. in Education with a specialization in Counseling & Guidance. She has three different teaching credentials and her certificate in administration.

Kerry has 24 years of experience in education and has a passion for helping students and families. First as a high school teacher and coach, then as a high school counselor, where she currently continues to thrive. Kerry’s own experience with her two college graduate sons, Austin & Derek, has given her an important parental perspective of the college planning and process. Kerry promotes optimism, resilience, goal setting, empowerment and emotional awareness to her students and families alike. You will feel loved and heard and she is sure to make you smile!

Kerry is happily married to Ed and they enjoy living on the central coast. In her personal time, Kerry likes to spend time with her teacup Yorkie, Dodger, walks on the beach, hosting friends, sushi nights, soft blankets, fire pits, coffee, and laughing out loud!

Amik Jones

Experienced counseling you can trust.

Amik was born in Oregon, but moved to San Luis Obispo County at the age of seven.  UC Santa Barbara was her undergraduate school of choice but Montana State University was where she continued her graduate work.  With proper planning, time-management and motivation, she was able to earn a Secondary Teaching Credential, Masters Degree and PPS Degree for school counseling, all while raising her first son in Montana.

Family ties on the central coast, and the Montana weather of course, brought Amik back to the area 10 years after her high school graduation and, being a fan of the sun and beach community, she has no plans to leave!

With 23 years in the education and counseling fields,  Amik takes great pride in her relationship with young adolescents and her ability to guide them to reaching both personal and educational goals.  Communication,

Responsibility and Self-advocacy are at the root of her message to helping young people on their path to success.

Married with two boys, currently going down two very differing paths, Amik helps both of them navigate through the sea of educational choices on a regular basis.

As a parent, she empathizes with the emotions that come with planning your child’s future and watching as they prepare to “leave the nest”. As an educator, she understands the academic needs and strengths of the current generation and what they require to “spread their wings” after graduation. As a counselor, she knows how to promote responsibility with positivity and success, guiding adolescents through the process, until they are ready to “fly”.
